The top 30 on the PGA TOUR official money list following the Chrysler Championship earn a berth in the TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola. Several of the season-ending categories from the PGA TOUR official money list, such as top 125, top 150 and top 40 (for Masters Tournament invites), will be decided upon the completion of the Chrysler Championship.

In the first round of 2004, Jeff Sluman fired a course-record, 9-under 62 to take a two-stroke lead at the Chrysler Championship. The 62 matched Sluman’s career low round, which he had done three times previously.

Only two aces have been recorded at the Chrysler Championship. They both occurred in the same year. Jonathan Kaye had a hole-in-one on the par-3 222-yard 17th hole (he used a 3-iron in the first round), and Mathias Gronberg aced the par-3 15th hole with a 5-iron from 208 yards in the second round.

Four of the five players who have held at least a share of the third-round lead at the Chrysler Championship have gone on to victory—K.J. Choi (2002), Retief Goosen (2003), Vijay Singh (2004) and Carl Pettersson (2005). Carl Paulson finished second behind John Huston in 2000.

In the history of the Chrysler Championship, three players have posted four rounds in the 60s—Vijay Singh and Jesper Parnevik in 2004 and K.J. Choi in 2002.

Only two players have made all five cuts at the Chrysler Championship. They are Woody Austin and 2000 champion John Huston.

Vijay Singh and Retief Goosen, both winners of multiple major championships, have won the Chrysler Championship. Singh set a tournament record of 266 (18-under-par) when he won the 2004 event by five strokes. It was his ninth victory of the year and made him the first golfer to win more than $10 million in a single season. Singh was second, three shots back in 2003 when Goosen emerged as the winner of the Chrysler Championship

Rookie Trevor Immelman is currently seventh on the PGA TOUR money list, with $3,562,546. He is the leader among rookies, with a total of seven top-10s. The last rookie to finish in the top 10 on the money list was Jerry Pate, who was 10th in 1976 after winning the U.S. Open. David Duval finished 11th on the money list in 1995 without winning, although he finished behind Woody Austin for Rookie of the Year.

With the victory by Troy Matteson at the Frys.com Open in Las Vegas two weeks ago, nine players in their 20s have won this year on TOUR. Two of them—Geoff Ogilvy and Ben Curtis—have won twice. Matteson came close to joining Ogilvy and Curtis last week. He tied for second at the FUNAI Classic at Walt Disney World Resort and has earned 69 percent of his season's earnings during the last two weeks ($1,124,800 of a total of $1,630,197).
