Birdies for Charity Year-By-Year Birdie CountHow many birdies do the contestants in the Shell Houston Open record? On average since 1999 it has been 1,641.6 per tournament. The annual Birdies for Charity count is derived from the number of birdies (scores of 1-under-par on each hole) made by professional competitors in the the Wednesday Grand Pro-Am as well as the contestants during four rounds of the tournament proper. This table includes data from three different courses on which the Shell Houston Open has been contested. Since 2006 the event has been played on the Redstone Golf Club -- Tournament Course. From 2003-2005 it was contested on the Members Course at Redstone Golf Club. The 1999-2002 totals were posted on the course formerly known as the Tournament Players Course at The Woodlands.
